Jose Zamora on trial with San Fernando of Spanish Tercera Division

American Jose Zamora of New Jersey, USA on extended trial with San Fernando
Cádiz, Spain – Since early September, Jose Zamora, a Midfielder in the Pro IFX Year IFX program, has been on trial with third division club San Fernando (Tercera Division). San Fernando, a close partner of IFX in the southern Spain region of Cádiz, has a long history of success at the highest tier of semi-professional and even professional football in Spain. Most recently San Fernando competed in Spain’s third highest division, Segunda B, a professional league just two tiers below the Spanish la Liga. After a disappointing 2013-14 season, San Fernando was relegated again to the Tercera Division in which they now compete.

Amateur Soccer in North America. NORCAL Premier League Spotlight
Today’s theme highlights an ambitious amateur soccer club out of San Francisco, California. San Francisco City FC was founded in 2001 and is a registered non-profit and supporter-owned club. Our very own IFX Ballistic Men’s team of the NORCAL Premier League recently squared off in league play with IFX falling short 3:2 (match report below).
Both clubs highlight top collegiate, semi-pros and ex-pros. More information on IFX Ballistic can be found here.
IFX (International Futbol X-Change) offers the opportunity for youth and senior players looking to compete throughout various destinations across Europe as well as in South America. More information can be found here.
Lamar Hunt US Open Cup
San Francisco recently competed in the history Lamar Hunt US Open Cup Club competition, falling to Cal FC 2:1 in front of a record crowd of 1,519 spectators at the historic Kezar Stadium- the old home of the NFL’s 49ers.
The Lamar Hunt Open Cup is the oldest ongoing national soccer club competition in the US and the world third longest running open soccer tournament. The competition is a knockout based cup competition including the three professional leagues: MLS, NASL and USL. The overall champion is awarded $250,000, while the runner up is awarded $60,000 and the furthest advancing team from each lower division is awarded $15,000. The champion of the US Open Cup also directly qualifies into the group stages of the CONCACAF Champions League.

In March, 2015 San Francisco City FC announced its plans to submit a bid to join the North American Soccer League (NASL)- the 2nd tier of professional soccer in North American behind the MLS (Major League Soccer).

Cameroonian U23 National Team Prospect Dany Djoufack Transfers to Germany’s SG Quelle Fürth through IFX

Cameroonian Center Back lands spot in ‘Färdd’
Nürnberg – 20 year old Dany Djoufack, from Cameroon, signed last month for German semi-professional club SG Quelle Fürth arranged by IFX. Djoufack, a 1.75 meter tall Center Back has been making great progress towards a professional career this past year. In an effort to improve and refine his playing style and goal of eventually joining his country’s national team and a professional club, Djoufack decided to relocate to Doncaster, England where he played at an Academy, getting exposure to some professional English teams’ Academies including Balby Carr Sports Academy , Doncaster Rovers, Barnsley FC, Chesterfield, Sunderland AFC, Newcastle United, Darsley Park , Leicester City, Fullham, and New Castle. Prior to moving to England, Dany was playing at the highest amateur level in Cameroon (Division 2) with Foudre Sportive d’Akonolinga based in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

Bavarian City Spotlight: Bamberg
FC Eintracht Bamberg 2010 is based out of the Bavarian city of Bamberg and was founded in 2006 after the successful union of 1. FC Bamberg and TSV Eintracht Bamberg. The club presently compete in the BayernLiga, the fifth tier of the German football pyramid.
The Franconian city is located 39 miles north of Nürnberg and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site; this in large part due to the authentic medieval appearance of the city. Popular sights include the Cathedral (including the tombs of emperor Henry II and Pope Clement II), the historic old town “alt stadt”, Altenburg Castle (dating back to 1109).
