Stuttgart, Germany. With the aim of pursuing his soccer career in Europe and learn what it takes to become a professional soccer player, the young talented player Sitraka Rakoto (17) a native of Antananarivo (Madagascar), enrolled in the Youth Year IFX Program and came to Germany to get a tremendous life experience. Sitraka, as part of the IFX soccer program, is living with a host family in Schwäbisch Gmünd (a beautiful city located in the eastern part of the German state of Baden-Württemberg, Stuttgart) while he attends a local high school. He has now been signed by SG Bettringen to play this season after successfully completing his soccer trial period.

Sitraka plays as right winger and loves to use his pace to get passed defenders and take a shot or cross in the box. He describes himself as the hardest worker of the team, trying to do his best to fulfill the tasks assigned. "No matter how good I am at something, I can always improve". Sitraka played past season for SC King Sport in Antananarivo with a record of 85 appearance, 20 goals and 15 assists.

"I have always been very passionate about playing soccer and I find great joy playing it. I don´t just plan on succeeding and becoming a professional player, I plan on playing for big teams and winning major trophies" stated Sitraka.

  • IFX players are placed within a competitive German football club fit to their level.

It is typical in Germany that even the smallest of clubs will have their own home including a clubhouse, stadium pitch, practice pitches, and perhaps even a fitness facility. With top notch facilities, beautifully maintained grass fields, and perhaps the most efficient, intense, and tactically superior style, a player has no choice but to improve when in Germany... "What I like most about German soccer is the good football fields they have" added Sitraka.

Students who choose an academic year or a semester soccer training program in Germany will live with a host family, attend a local public high school, and play with a competitive German soccer club. IFX players are placed within a competitive German football club fit to their level. Players are placed within a challenging football environment that allows tremendous opportunity for development, while keeping in mind their physical strength and technical foundation.
