Soccer camps in Europe: SG Quelle Fürth

To provide world class training opportunities for top American youth soccer players in one of the best soccer camps in Europe, the International Fútbol X-Change has partnered with German semi-professional club, SG Quelle Fürth to allow a limited number of American players to train amongst their youth teams. Contrary to the traditional international soccer tour where American teams travel to play against foreign teams, our program immerses players in the foreign game, experiencing the German game as if they were a part of the team.

 

Players spend two weeks in Fürth where they are professionally trained by the head youth coaches of SG Quelle Fürth. Exchange participants stay in the beautiful Gasthof zur Frischen Quelle, attend daily training, play in friendly matches organized by the club, visit local tourist attractions, and learn about the German culture and life.

 

SG Quelle Fürth Semi Professional Men’s Team

 

Each morning, players either train under the instruction of the coaches of SG Quelle Fürth. Licensed German trainers lead the daily training, engaging the group in technical drills and tactical maneuvering. Players will then join the SG Quelle Fürth youth teams in the afternoons to participate in their normal training sessions.

 

IFX players may have the opportunity to compete in friendly matches with the Quelle youth teams which may include inter-squad competition.

  • Accommodation in Fürth Gasthof/Hotel.
  • Roundtrip airfare not included.
  • Full board included. Breakfast, lunch, and dinners eaten at hostel. Lunches sometimes eaten out during tourist excursions. (Lunches to be paid for at player’s expense if eaten out.)
  • Full time chaperone during entire program.
  • 10-15 training sessions, Mon-Fri each weekday morning and/or afternoon.
  • Participation in friendly matches as guest players of SG Quelle Fürth youth teams subject to scheduling and guest player pass approval.
  • Official SG Quelle Fürth club gear including warm-up suit, practice jersey, shorts, and socks.
  • Tourist activities including visits to Nürnberg downtown, the Adidas and Puma Headquarters, and surrounding areas.
  • Attend a professional Bundesliga (German pro league) match upon availability

Based in the beautiful northern Bavarian region of Germany, SG Quelle Fürth is one of the strongest regional clubs with their semi-professional men’s team competing in the state Landesliga. Their boys youth teams also compete in the top regional leagues, which are the second highest level of youth soccer in all of Germany.

SG Quelle encompasses aspects of a true European sports club, with professional facilities including a stadium, lockerooms, and clubhouse.

SUPERVISION

Upon arrival in Germany, players are picked up at the Frankfurt International Airport and escorted by train to Fürth. There is a 24 hour experienced chaperone that stays with the boys throughout the program at the youth hostel, taking them to daily training, and guiding the touring activities. At the end of the program, players are escorted again by train to Frankfurt International Airport for their departure.

 

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES

IFX maintains a good balance between planned activities, soccer, and free time throughout the program. Activities include: a tour through Nürnberg’s charming downtown , a trip to Adidas and Puma’s headquarters and outlets, and attendance of a professional Bundesliga soccer match.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  • For Boys players age 14-18 (Birth years 1994-1998)
  • Players must be currently competing at a competitive level of soccer in their state.
  • Limited space per age group.
  • Maximum of 12 players accepted into program.
  • Players chosen on a first-come first-serve basis for all of those who fulfill program requirements.
  • Download and complete the Youth Summer IFX Application .
  • Submit a non-refundable deposit of $750.00 USD (refundable only if you are not selected for the program), with a check or money order made payable to IFX, and send along with your completed X-Change Application to:
