IFX Youth Year player Ethan Riddell signed by CFA Espluguenc in Barcelona

Barcelona, Spain. 18 year old Ethan Riddell from Fayston, Vermont (U.S.A.) and former Black Watch Premier´s player arrived in Barcelona in August to take part in the Pro IFX Year Spain program – A soccer total immersion program that enables players to live with a host family, attend a language school and play with a competitive Spanish soccer club. Since Ethan moved to Barcelona, he underwent a series of football tryouts with several youth Barcelona football clubs. With the support of IFX Soccer’s Spain office and during his trial period, CFA Espluguenc made an offer to the youth player to play for its U19s for the 2017-18 season.

With a rich history of professional and amateur football, Spain’s extensive league system provides opportunities for all levels of players to compete and develop their soccer career. CFA Espluguenc is a well regarded soccer club in Barcelona that recently debuted with its Juvenil A team in the tough División Preferente Juvenil de España. FCA Espluguenc is an International Fútbol X-Change partner club in Spain who continually receive our participants for soccer tryouts in Barcelona and signs them to its various teams (fit to their level and age).

Ethan is very excited about not only improving his soccer in one of the top league systems in the world, but also to learn and experience the Spanish language… in a nutshell an authentic Spanish football experience which definitely will create lasting memories for him. Aside from his demanding training schedule, Ethan is enjoying his time with his Spanish host family who will make his life far from Fayston a smoother experience.
