American Felipe Giesen transfers to top Zaragozian club C.D. Oliver
February 25th, 2016
Zaragoza, Spain – 16 year old Dutch American Felipe Giesen, came to Spain in the Youth Year Spain program last Fall looking to advance his development in football. Coming from a US Development Academy club in Texas, Lonestar, Giesen already was competing at the highest level possible for his age in the United States.
Giesen impressed immediately the coaches of C.D. Oliver, his current club, where he competes with the U19 A and B side competing in the Juvenil Preferente and Primera Division respectively. C.D. Oliver is known to be one of the strongest clubs in the region of Aragon, their first team a mainstay in the highest non-professional division, Tercera Division. But with Dutch parents and ties and experience playing in the ‘Old World’ a few years prior in Holland, Giesen had his heart set on improving his game and learning in a country where the sport is an integral part of its culture.
