Learn to Play the Arsenal Way
At Arsenal Football Club we pride ourselves on playing as a team to produce imaginative, entertaining and skilful football. We take time to develop and nurture our younger players to ensure that they reach their full potential. By guiding players through our extensive training programmes, we have produced many world-class players over the years. The training programmes in our Arsenal Soccer Schools have been developed based on the same principles we teach at the Arsenal training ground; developing young players’ technical skills and passion for the game to ensure they become the best players and athletes they possibly can.
This year our residential programmes have been running for over 20 years and have given many boys and girls the opportunity, whatever their football ability, to live, learn and experience football coaching the Arsenal Way.

SOCCER TRAINING PROGRAM OVERVIEW
In the summer 2013 Arsenal Soccer Schools residential programs will run at two locations in the UK. Both venues offer a safe and secure environment with accommodation, meals, evening activities and matches played on site. The soccer academy runs from Sunday afternoon through to Friday afternoon and include five nights full board accommodation with evening activities included. The coaching team remains on site for the duration and a resident physiotherapist along with additional support staff who are on hand.
On the first day of the course the children will be divided into groups (based on age) and assigned a coach who will assess each child’s football skills, and monitor their progress throughout the course.
Typically this course consists of:
Morning registration each day
Warm up drills and games

Passing, Finishing, Turning, crossing, defending, heading, dribbling, movement, Individual ball skills as well as covering tactical aspects such as: Phases of play, formational play, set pieces and small sided games incorporating the skills learnt during the days topic.
Coaches will also introduce the importance of fitness and a healthy nutritional diet for the modern day footballer.

Arsenal was founded in 1886 in Woolwich and in 1893 became the first club from the south of England to join the Football League. In 1913, it moved north across the city to Arsenal Stadium in Highbury. In the 1930s the club won five League Championship titles and two FA Cups. After a lean period in the post-war years it won the League and FA Cup Double, in the 1970-71 season and in the 1990s and first decade of the 21st century won two more Doubles and reached the 2006 UEFA Champions League Final. Arsenal has a long-standing rivalry with North London neighbors Tottenham Hotspur, with whom it contests the North London derby. The fourth most valuable association football club in the world as of 2012, valued at $1.3 billion, is Arsenal.
The program sessions consist of technical and tactical player
development, nutritional advice to increase fitness levels and small sided matches in high intensity tournaments to improve passing, speed of movement, technique and game understanding.
To ensure that every child who attends progresses during their time on the program the coaches will spend an initial period assessing and evaluating their performance to ensure that they are grouped with children of a similar level and age. The coaches then work with each group and child to improve skill levels. Our aim is that all children leave the program with greater knowledge of the game and technical skills.
Upon arrival in London, players are picked up at the London Heathrow or Gatwick Airport (if airport transfer is selected) and escorted by bus to the soccer camp site. Supervision is provided around the clock, both at the living quarters as well as throughout the day during the training activities.
During the week the group will visit Emirates Stadium for a behind the scenes tour where they will see all the areas which are crucial to the team on a matchday – from a walk down the players’ tunnel to taking a seat in the first team dressing room and in the dug-out.
