Erlangen, Bavaria. The former Pima College´s center back and Pro IFX Year Germany player Rogelio Cañez (20), a native from Tucson, Arizona, has been signed by FSV Erlangen Bruck to play football for its first team in the competitive  Bayernliga Nord (the fifth tier in the German football system). FSV Erlangen Bruck is a semi-pro German soccer club from the region of Bavaria, a tough competitor who has spent the last decade up and down from the Bayernliga and Landesliga divisions, and led for the past ten seasons by the experienced coach Normann Wagner. Roger, as his friends call him, joined to our exclusive Pro IFX Year Germany program which enabled him to take part in football trials with semi-professional German soccer clubs, and be placed with one German club to compete with for the full 2017-18 season.

FSV Erlangen-Bruck is a German association football club founded in 1916 and located in the suburb of Bruck in the city of Erlangen, Bavaria. The club spent eight seasons in the Bezirksoberliga before winning the league in 2004 and gaining promotion to the Landesliga Bayern-Mitte for the first time. Bayernliga promotion was finally achieved when the club won the Landesliga in 2008. After a 29-year absence, Bayernliga football returned therefore to the city of Erlangen.

As for Roger, he wants to make soccer his life´s career and said that for as long as he can remember, he has been playing football. He spent the last season playing soccer at National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) league for Pima College and took advantage of his time there. Now he is stepped forward in his soccer career entrusting it to IFX Soccer Nürnberg, and with a great opportunity in a well scouted and respectable German Amateur football league in the Bayernliga.

The right-footer is an intelligent and physical player, good in tackling, heading and defending. The signing with FSV Erlangen-Bruck came after the club´s representatives saw him in training during his trial period with the club, and the club showed their interest to sign him for the 2017-18 campaign.

It is well known that in the last years many North Americans football players opt for enhancing their soccer skills in Germany. Germany not only provides elite training camps, world-class facilities and world champion firsthand experience, but also their complex and extremely built out league structure enables foreign players to truly have access to an extensive variety of clubs which can boost their soccer game.
