IFX’s David Andreychuk signed during the summer transfer window with SV Buckenhofen of the German Landesliga. Andreychuk finished the season with BSC Erlangen before agreeing to terms with Buckenhofen. Another recent signing was 18 year old Tyler Mertens, a San Francisco Bay Area native. Mertens spent his youth career with Marin FC and will add some firepower to the already strong attack.

On Sunday, SV Buckenhofen took on Landesliga rival SG Quelle Fürth in an IFX derby, with IFX’s Thomas Mallette shirting up for his first appearance with Quelle. The first half had Quelle controlling the field, with solid back line movement and creating several chances on goal. Starting the second half scoreless, Buckenhofen converted off an early defensive mistake, getting on the scoreboard with a nice finish by former Erlangen-Bruck midfielder Markus Valeri.  Quelle remained flat throughout the second half allowing a free-kick to penetrate their wall, bringing themselves to a 0 – 2 deficit. To clinch the match 3 – 0, another former Bruck player, Cihan Yagiz, bursted through the defense and tucked a nice shot into the right corner.
