Another
year kicks off for the Youth Year IFX. Participants from around
the world have packed their bags and set off on what will likely
be their most amazing journey yet - playing soccer in Europe
for one year while living with a host family and studying at
a local foreign high school.

After
participating in the Pro IFX program this past October and November
2011, Nate Weiss signed a 2 year deal last week with Oberliga
club, FSV Erlangen-Bruck. Weiss also had a trial with 3rd Bundesliga
club Vfl Osnabrück which didn't turn into an immediate
opportunity but the door remains open with them potentially
for the summer.

After
participating in the Pro IFX program this July with SG Quelle
Fürth, in Fürth, Germany, Washington D.C. native,
Vanya Klein, was offered the opportunity to play for this top
Landesliga squad.
Vanya
Klein, 19, signs for Bavarian club SG Quelle Fürth
Klein,
19, impressed the Quelle coaches during the month long
training program where IFX players trained mornings
with Quelle coaching staff and afternoons with the 1st
and 2nd teams. Klein's impressive technique, quickness,
and young age was attractive enough for him to find
a soccer agent and for the German club to give him a
spot on the roster.
Best of luck to Vanya during this incredible opportunity.

McClay
just 20 years old, set out in April 2008 on his journey to Germany
after enrolling in the Pro IFX program, which he selected after
looking for more serious ways to train than an international
soccer academy. During his initial training period, he trained
with various local clubs in the Bayreuth, Germany and proved
that he could play within the top league in the state, the Bayern
Oberliga. After several weeks of training, SpVgg Weiden offered
him an attractive contract to stay with their club to play for
the next two seasons.

The
Youth Year IFX program, a soccer exchange program and the latest
alternative to international soccer academies, soccer camps,
and boarding soccer schools, gives high school soccer players
the opportunity to compete within a foreign youth soccer club
while studying abroad at a foreign high school and living with
a host family.

trained with Hamburger SV of the German Youth Bundesliga, during
his Youth Year IFX experience with Bavarian powerhouse club,
FC Schweinfurt 05 where he competed for the 2007-8 season.
With
official partnerships with academic exchange institutions, the
IFX soccer exchange program provides a unique opportunity for
immersion into a foreign culture through soccer.
Most international soccer camps and soccer boarding schools train
participating players in large groups amongst themselves, but
our soccer exchange program enables players to:
Participate
in the normal training activities of the foreign soccer
club
Compete
as fully registered players of the youth team according
to their age subject to FIFA regulations and approval by
National and State Soccer Federations
Learn
from licensed European soccer trainers
Learn
from other highly competitive European soccer players
This
advantage of being the sole IFX participant on the foreign squad
forces rapid technical development and enhances the players'
ability to learn and adapt to a foreign environment. Players
also learn tremendous life skills in communication, foreign
language, and take away a heightened sense of accomplishment.
The program is open to both high school age girls and boys,
who have a good scholastic record, a strong interest and desire
to excel in soccer, an interest in experiencing a foreign culture
and language and are looking for an alternative to an international
soccer academy.
The Youth Summer IFX, our summer
soccer camps alternative, also provides young American players
with a unique two-week long summer program.
